How do Souper Cubes Work?

1. Fill Tray
Put your food into the Souper Cubes tray, hot or cold!
2. Freeze It
Place the lid on top of the Souper Cubes tray and store it in the freezer.
3. Reheat

It All Started With Our Favorite Chicken Soup Recipe!
Hi! We’re Michelle & Jake, the founders of Souper Cubes®.
In 2017, we were making chicken soup and had an idea that changed our lives forever. Whenever we made this recipe, we always ran into the same problem:

What are the trays made from?
Our Souper Cubes line of trays are made from 100% US FDA-food grade silicone. Our MyMilk line of trays are made from 100% pure platinum silicone. All of our trays are free of BPA, lead, PVC, and phthalates.
Can I put the trays in the dishwasher?
Yes, both the trays and lids are dishwasher safe. We recommend using the dishwasher (on a normal cycle) to clean your Souper Cubes trays and lids after each use. This is the best way to make sure your Souper Cubes are as clean as possible.
How long do they take to freeze?
It depends on the content and the temperature of the food that you’re freezing. However, most foods can take up to 24 hours to freeze. Foods with high water content tend to take longer to freeze than foods like mashed potatoes or rice.
How can I remove odor from the trays?
We have never had any residual smells or odors even though we’ve been using the same tray for over for several years to freeze foods with garlic, onions, tomatoes, ginger, cumin, and other spices/ingredients. We always recommend using a dishwasher to clean your Souper Cubes. If you do not have access to one, then clean with soap and hot water. Still have a slight smell in the trays? You can try a baking soda plus vinegar wash or baking your trays in a 300F oven for 30 minutes.
Can I use the trays for baby food and breast milk?
Make sure to sterilize your Souper Cubes before your first use. You can boil your Souper Cubes trays or use your dishwasher’s sterilization feature. Between each use, clean your Souper Cubes with soap and hot water.
How useful are the measurement fill lines?
The measurement markings are super useful for knowing just how much you’re freezing, making for perfectly portioned meals later.
Is there a trick to popping the frozen food out?
Let the frozen tray sit on your counter for 3-5 minutes, then simply push on the bottom.
Can I use the trays for commercial cooking?
Yes, several commercial kitchens including farms, commercial dairy companies, meal prep companies, and restaurants have used Souper Cubes for portioning stews and soups, packing butter, and more.

I love the smaller 1/2 cup size. I find it fits my needs so well. Didn't realize just how much is 1 cup until using them. Definitely need the 1/2 cup and the 2 Tbsp!

The original set I bought 3-4 years ago (with 2-cup, 1-cup, 1/2-cup, and 2 Tbsp-sized trays) is still holding up great and looks brand new. I originally came across them looking for a better alternative to freezing soup in plastic containers that inevitably crack and leave plastic shard in food. I had also been freezing my garden herbs in ice cube trays with oil at the end of the season to cook with throughout winter, so getting the (at the time) complete seemed ideal, despite thinking I wouldn’t use some of the sizes. I get constant use out of EVERY size and have bought additional 2 tbsp and 1 cup trays to freeze more at once. So why do I need this additional beyond full set? Because I wanted to add the baking dishes (so simple, but genius and makes life easier…no more using a larger dish than you need when just wanting to heat a 1/2 cup of soup), as well as the cookie dough tray. Granted, I could have bought these separately, but it’s soup season and I’d love to freeze more at once without spreading a batch out over a few days waiting for the others to freeze.
My most common uses:
Bone broth for people and dogs-for my dogs (onion free) I use the 2 tbsp trays and pop them into a freezer container. With aging pups, this makes it easy to get through GI upsets and not worry about store bought broth having onions or other non-pup-friendly ingredients. I pop a cube in the bowl, heat and add ther food (or rice if ill)

I am new to using souper cubes. But so far it have frozen left over taco meat,refried beans, stuffed pepper casserole and rice. It’s amazing how much less space this all took
