Entrepreneurs, Michelle and Jake, entered the Shark Tank on the 14th episode of this season’s Shark Tank and walked away with Lori’s Golden Ticket!
Souper Cubes® started with Michelle’s desire to find a better way to freeze leftovers. “We love soup”, she says, “but we couldn’t buy or make soup in large quantities because there wasn’t a great way to store the leftovers”. Freezing their stocks and soups was proving to be problematic for numerous reasons - the bags they were using were messy and cumbersome. Ice cube trays were too small, and glass jars would often break in the freezer.
“For Jake the solution was obvious,” Michelle says, what they needed was bigger ice cube trays. An engineer by trade, Jake started to consider how they could make their own trays. Partnering with a friend in manufacturing, Jake and Michelle set out to create the perfect freezer tray for soup portions.
The couple introduced their invention - Souper Cubes® - to the Sharks, and the Sharks loved it! They were given multiple offers but chose to partner with Lori Greiner after she offered them her elusive Golden Ticket.
“Getting the Golden Ticket was a dream come true! We believe we have a good product, and we felt confident walking into the Tank,” Jake explains, “But to be offered the Golden Ticket! We just couldn’t believe it!”
“We are thrilled to be working with Lori and her team”, Michelle adds. “We are excited to share Souper Cubes® with more people!”
About Souper Cubes
Food played an integral role in the lives of Michelle and Jake. To them, it was about connecting back to their families traditions.
Whenever they would make their family chicken stock recipe, they always encountered the same problem: how do we freeze our soup so that it's easy to use again later?
Michelle and Jake created Souper Cubes® to make freezing and reusing soups and stocks easy, convenient, and fun.
