How do Souper Cubes Work?

Put your food into the Souper Cubes tray, hot or cold!
2. Freeze It
Place the lid on top of the Souper Cubes tray and store it in the freezer.

It All Started With Our Favorite Chicken Soup Recipe!
Hi! We’re Michelle & Jake, the founders of Souper Cubes®.
In 2017, we were making chicken soup and had an idea that changed our lives forever. Whenever we made this recipe, we always ran into the same problem:
How do we freeze our chicken soup in a way that makes it easy to reheat later?

What are the trays made from?
Our Souper Cubes line of trays are made from 100% US FDA-food grade silicone. Our MyMilk line of trays are made from 100% pure platinum silicone. All of our trays are free of BPA, lead, PVC, and phthalates.
Can I put the trays in the dishwasher?
Yes, both the trays and lids are dishwasher safe. We recommend using the dishwasher (on a normal cycle) to clean your Souper Cubes trays and lids after each use. This is the best way to make sure your Souper Cubes are as clean as possible.
How long do they take to freeze?
It depends on the content and the temperature of the food that you’re freezing. However, most foods can take up to 24 hours to freeze. Foods with high water content tend to take longer to freeze than foods like mashed potatoes or rice.
How can I remove odor from the trays?
We have never had any residual smells or odors even though we’ve been using the same tray for over for several years to freeze foods with garlic, onions, tomatoes, ginger, cumin, and other spices/ingredients. We always recommend using a dishwasher to clean your Souper Cubes. If you do not have access to one, then clean with soap and hot water. Still have a slight smell in the trays? You can try a baking soda plus vinegar wash or baking your trays in a 300F oven for 30 minutes.
Can I use the trays for baby food and breast milk?
Make sure to sterilize your Souper Cubes before your first use. You can boil your Souper Cubes trays or use your dishwasher’s sterilization feature. Between each use, clean your Souper Cubes with soap and hot water.
How useful are the measurement fill lines?
The measurement markings are super useful for knowing just how much you’re freezing, making for perfectly portioned meals later.
Is there a trick to popping the frozen food out?
Let the frozen tray sit on your counter for 3-5 minutes, then simply push on the bottom.
Can I use the trays for commercial cooking?
Yes, several commercial kitchens including farms, commercial dairy companies, meal prep companies, and restaurants have used Souper Cubes for portioning stews and soups, packing butter, and more.

Never again do you have to throw out leftovers! I used this for some delicious shrimp 🍤 & okra gumbo leftovers. We had eaten the gumbo for a few days & were tired of it. So, I put the remaining leftovers into my Souper Cubes. I actually forgot about the leftovers. I recently thought about the gumbo & pulled it out the freezer for my family to eat for supper this week. It came in handy & the gumbo tasted just like the first day I had cooked it.
Here’s the kicker - it was in the freezer for 3 months & it DID NOT have a “freezer” or “plastic” smell or taste. Had I used plastic containers- I believe it would have not been as tasty as using these silicone Souper Cubes!! These are great investments! Great gifts, too!!

As a single person living alone, I gotta say, these are worth every penny - I've tried some of the knockoffs and they are hands down just not the same. The knockoffs lose their shape when freezing so it makes it tough to make "lego lunch" easily. It took me awhile to purchase these, but I've since purchased a lot more as well as the ceramic cubes. My daily lunches are now a healthy and fun experience, vs. a frozen lunchsicle in a box that's bad for me and full of preservatives. I can also easily freeze portions of food that won't go to waste.
